Dear Mr Tillman,

The Public Service Ombudsman for Wales recently concluded an investigation following code of conduct complaints brought by chief executive Mark James against former county councillor Sian Caiach. When the complaint was made Ms Caiach was a county councillor.

Please provide a full detailed breakdown of all expenditure incurred by the council in relation to Mr James' complaint and the lengthy investigation which followed.
Please also include the cost of any external legal advice, officer time, officer research and the preparation of witness statements.

Dear Mrs Thompson,

 

I refer to your request for information, which was received on 20^th
August, 2018 and has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act
2000.

The specific information you requested was as follows:

 

“The Public Service Ombudsman for Wales recently concluded an
investigation following code of conduct complaints brought by chief
executive Mark James against former county councillor Sian Caiach. When

In response, the information we hold which is relevant to your request is
very limited.

 

This investigation was undertaken wholly by the Ombudsman’s office, and
our records are limited to a time recording which shows that, upon receipt
of notice from the Ombudsman that he would be carrying out an
investigation, 1 hour 24 minutes (equating to £92.40) of officer time was
spent on this matter.

 

No external legal advice was sought.
