Information Request – Cost to NHS Scotland for interpreters and taxis for foreign nationals

I am writing with regard to your Freedom of Information request originally made on 25 November 2016, to which NHS Health Scotland provided a response on 12 December 2016. You replied on 16 December requesting the following further information:

“I recently asked how much migrants are costing NHS Scotland for taxis, interpreters. You answered £0. I have spoken to nurses on front line who disagree, I will rephrase the question if not NHS Scotland then who is paying for it and how much.”
In response to a similar Freedom of Information request, we wrote to you on 12 July 2016 advising that NHS Health Scotland has spent £0 on interpreters and taxis for foreign nationals, and although NHS Health Scotland is a part of the NHS in Scotland we do not provide health services directly to the public and we have no role in monitoring of providing the information that you are looking for. We advised that this link describes the different organisations that make up the NHS in Scotland.
Following this, on 16 August 2016 you replied asking the following:
“Can you please advise where I can obtain the information requested.”
NHS Health Scotland responded on 30 August 2016 stating:
“I would advise that you redirect your request to local health boards who are responsible for providing front line services. Contact details for local boards can be found here”
Therefore, in ultimate response to your request for information, please redirect your enquiry to the Freedom of Information teams at each local health board within the NHS in Scotland using the contact details below:
