(names redacted) at the pathway meetings regarding the Rego system

NHS England holds information in relation to your request.

2.    What other companies tendered other than Vantage.

FDS Consultants

3.    Details of the clinical qualifications of those involved in the
decision making process.

The procurement was carried out with the input of, and in conjunction
with, a Max Fax Consultant, a Dental Consultant in Public Health England,
our Local Dental Network Chair (qualified Dentist), a Consultant in
Restorative Dentistry and members of the Dental contracting team.

4.    Details of the comments made in the recent questionaire as to the
effectiveness of the system (names redacted)

                40 x extremely satisfied

Comment 1: guide to attaching xrays step by step would be
useful

48 x very satisfied:

Comment 1: Allow without xrays as this is in house referral, no need for
uploading xray

Comment 2: ensure providers discharge referrals once treatment is
complete.

Comment 3: your GMP/doctors list is incomplete. pts unaware of details
which delays referral [process, yet on the whole think the REGO system is
good

Comment 4: Scanner does not work. Cannot get onto rego referral

Comment 5: more options

Comment 6: Would be good if we did not have to input pt's data everytime
and could be automatically uploaded

Comment 7: There is no possibility with scanner to send panoral radiograph

8 x satisfied – no comments

6 x dissatisfied:

Comment 1 – too many screens

           Comment 2 – no comment

Comment 3 – could be quicker

Comment 4 – please integrate with computer software.  Please enable a
re-send feature/ongoing referrals.  It took me several attempts to send
this referral to the web page not allowing me to continue to the referral
failing to send when completed.

Comment 5 – Took too long to find the correct referral route.
This information needs to be clearly distributed to the practices

                 2 x extremely dissatisfied:

   Comment 1 – no comment

Comment 2 - Useless. Complete waste of valuable clinical time when a
letter can be sent far more elegantly. Not enough prepopulated drop downs
for oral conditions. Not effective         for experienced practitioners
to get the subtleties of a referral through. Slow. No confirmation of
receipt of the referral.

5. Details of issues raised by primary and secondary care clinicians
(names redacted) at the pathway meetings regarding the Rego system

                Issues/queries raised in first meeting:

·         Not all GDP practices are electronic/have Wifi

·         What happens with regards to plain film x-rays?

·         How do GPs make referrals?

·         Private referrals are they excluded from his process?

·         2WW education, lots of inappropriate referrals

·         Clinical triage should be delivered by local clinicians

·         Could Orthodontics referrals be included in the future?

Above issues/queries resolved.

Future pathway meetings regularly undertaken to discuss development of
system/pathway.

From the perspective of the Nottinghamshire LDC, we have found the
transition to paperless referral a welcome move into a more connected
clinical environment. We are happy with the efficiency of the referral
process and the ability to track referrals in real time and produce useful
data sets.  We have met with the developers and had an opportunity to
discuss our initial concerns with some aspects of the referral process.
They have been happy to adjust the programme and tweak elements in order
to satisfy these concerns in a timely manner and we hope that this will
continue going forward as part of the evolution of the system.
