Paul, good luck, but you will probably receive the same response as I got on 14th June (see link). They treat pretty much any question over costs as "commercially sensitive" whether it is or not just to avoid disclosure. I fully expect mine to end up with the ICO as the internal review is bound to take the same line.

The cost of the machines is £1400 plus VAT, If the DWP supplied each assessment centre with just one machine it would only cost approx £200 thousand plus, I'm sure they'd get a huge discount for putting in such a large order???

£1400 +VAT seems to be quite expensive given that Atos insist the equipment needs to callibrated by an approved egineer prior to each recording - I wonder if Neal (the manufacturer) recomend this callibration regime in order to guarantee the efective use of their product - or perhaps you get a free egineer with each device in which case £1400 now seems cheap...

I think that applies If you bring a machine yourself to the assessment?
