Cost of stock images on BBC news website
Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
The BBC news website is littered with ‘stock images’ from organisations such as Getty Images and others.
This is an example of lazy journalism that adds little to a story and would never be allowed in a newspaper. It is at its worst during weekends.
How much money annually does the BBC spend on licensing of stock images for news stories? Please include costs for all BBC platforms (UK and overseas).
Yours faithfully,
Iain

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'Cost of stock images on BBC news website
I do understand the exemptions being referred to in the response but they were not really designed for this purpose, and the BBC will know that.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...
Yours faithfully,
Iain Low
