Cost of pilot scheme RE: Wingrove Terraces Waste/ recycling issues
Dear Newcastle upon Tyne City Council,
I wonder if I could learn the budget or cost of the scheme referred to in the letter (council ref: RS/EL dated August 9th 2021) This relates to the following points under the same headings and numbering.:
**Already underway:
1) increase in CCTV (5 new units) - value in £ per unit including installation
Points 2 to 4: n/a
5) Recycling text message - please advise of the subscription costs & text costs per message sent by this system.
6) Reclaim the lanes: planter policy - difficult to qualify i guess, but the anticipated cost in £ per unit would be useful.
**Work already taking place: no requests
**New Pilot Scheme coming soon: This relates to a 12 month trial installing physical road closures to rear access lanes and another try of individual rubbish bins.
Question 1: What is the anticipated cost of obtaining the bins for this scheme as a whole across the four lanes referred to
Question 2: What is the cost of installing bollards to those areas referred to (4 sets so far)
Question 3: What is the anticipated reinstatement costs when/ if those bollards are removed
Question 4: How do we residents accept deliveries / emergency services gain access? do we all receive electronic fobs is there a concierge or is there some sort of anticipated 'Scheme' and what is the cost of the relevant service.
Yours faithfully,
Paul D Short

Dear Freedom Of Information Requests Mailbox,
Good Morning.
I still have not received a reply however I wish to raise your awareness about another response I have had- this potentially from the same department you are relying upon to satisfy this supervised request (from a Ms O Keefe of the 'keep it clean team' ) which was sent to me on September 7th 2021- and that reply is the reason I made a supervised and public request via this forum. The reply said that they would not provide detail of other costings due to commercially sensitive information- I responded but did not receive a reply to that. If the procurement process has been followed this must be public information as we are paying for it after all and it directly affects our homes. Given the timescale and the previously declared refusal of [email address] I really have no further option but to refer it to the ICO and the local government ombudsman as this relates to public fund and what we consider to be indulgent and unnecessary expediture.
Yours sincerely,
paul short
