3. the amount of money spent on fines for breaches in the safe management of asbestos in schools between 2006 and 2016
4. funding sought from the Department of Education and the Education Funding Authority for the management and removal of asbestos from schools between 2006 and 2016
5. the amount of funding approved by the Department of Education and the Education Funding Authority for the management and removal of asbestos from schools between 2006 and 2016
6. the projected budget for future management of asbestos in schools between 2017 and 2027

I understand that under the Act I am entitled to a response within 20 working days of your receipt of this request. Some parts of the request may be easier to answer than others. Should this be the case, I request that you release information as soon as possible.

If my request is denied in whole or in part, I ask that you justify all deletions by reference to specific exemptions of the Act. I will also expect you to release all non-exempt material. I reserve the right to appeal your decision to withhold any information or to charge excessive

Please find below, Sheffield City Council’s response to your request:
 
Please note that we have under our Section 16 duty to assist a requestor
provided information which we are able to provide within the cost
threshold of FOI. We are unable to provide the outstanding information
indicated as to locate, retrieve and extract the requested information
would likely well exceed the cost limit for dealing with FOI requests
under [1]Section 12 of the Freedom of Information Act. For ease of
reference, the cost limit (18hours or £450) is specified in the [2]Freedom
of Information and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees)
Regulations 2004 (SI 2004 No. 3244).
 

 1. The amount of money spent on asbestos management in schools between
2006 and 2016 (to include the costs of surveys, staff training and
work to enclose asbestos within schools

The funding spent on asbestos management , surveys ,training  and removals
between 2006 and 2016 amounts to £2,040,706.58 , this information has come
from our data management system, however schools are able to procure their
own asbestos removals and surveys. Should you wish to access information
of individual school spend you are at liberty to make a request directly
to schools and details can be found at:

(see document “School’s List Easter 2017”. The Building Schools for the
Future programme (BSF) also carried out various removals as part of the
scope of works but unfortunately we are unable to give you the cost of
this as it would take longer than 18hours.

removals .
