Cost of Jubilee Light display

Mr I Grundy made this Freedom of Information request to Scarborough Borough Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Scarborough Borough Council,

I am requesting information to the costs of the Jubilee Light display on the Castle Walls on the 4th June 2012 and which "failed to deliver the agreed outcomes".

In particular how much was paid to the contractors who did not deliver the display as advertised?

How much of the cost was contributed by the late Max Payne and from which source did the remainder come?

How much was incurred in Hospitality?

What is being done to recover any expenditure, and how will this be used in accordance with the terms of May Payne's bequest?

Yours faithfully,

Ian Grundy

Within the reply most of the questions are answered, the exception being the overall cost as the contractors have not yet been paid, and the amount is now being disputed following the failure of the event on the South side.
