Peter Grimshaw

Dear Greater Manchester Police,

Please can you tell me the cost that has been paid to informants during 2009-2010. If possible, I'd like an exact breakdown of how much was spent in each area of Greater Manchester, how many informants each area has and how many of those informants were unemployed, employed or under benefits.

Also, a success record of these informants would be appreciated. Obviously I dont expect detailed info of the persons involved.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Grimshaw

Greater Manchester Police

Peter Grimshaw

Dear Greater Manchester Police,

Thanks for your prompt reply. By "success record" I mean an account of times when an informant has provided information that has led to an arrest, been used as evidence, etc. as opposed to when an informant has provided information to be then regarded as unuseful or unuseable, etc.

Yours faithfully,

Peter Grimshaw

Greater Manchester Police
