Cost of in cell phone calls at HMP The Mount

We're waiting for Helen Gillespie to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear HM Prison Service,

My partner is presently serving a 4 year sentence at HMP The Mount. He is 53 and is lucky enough to be on the 50+ Nary Wing, where prisoners have in cell phones.
We have noticed that there seems to be a huge difference in phone call costs depending on the time of day he calls, and wondered if you could clarify when peak and off-peaktimes are as well as the rate per minute for landline and mobile phones.

Communication and contact is essential in maintaining our relationship and it would help if we knew the cheapest times to call,

Yours faithfully,

Helen Gillespie

Disclosure Team, HM Prison Service

Dear Helen,

Thank you for your e-mail, I am writing to advise you that your enquiry
does not fall under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (FOIA) regime and
has been rejected by the Disclosure Team.

If you would like for us to respond to oyur query outside of the FOIA
please contact us directly from a personal email address at the contact
below.

It may be helpful if I explain that the FOIA gives individuals and
organisations the right of access to all types of recorded information
held, at the time the request is received, by public authorities such as
the Ministry of Justice (MoJ). Section 84 of the FOIA states that in order
for a request for information to be handled as a FOI request, it must be
for recorded information.

For example, a FOI request would be for a copy of a policy, rather than an
explanation as to why we have that policy in place. On occasion, the MoJ
receives requests that do not ask for recorded information, but ask more
general questions about, for example, a policy, opinion or a decision.

You may wish to re-submit your enquiry to the Ministry of Justice, which
will be treated as Official Correspondence. Our contact details are as
follows:

Protection Act (DPA), please contact the Disclosure Team at the above
e-mail address.

Kind regards,

The Disclosure Team
