Dear FOI Requests,

Thank you for your offer of a call, though I must ask you to please keep it in writing as this is for the tax-paying public, not for me. Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

FOI Requests, Civil Aviation Authority

Dear Ms R

The CAA does not hold the information you have requested. What we do
know is the cost of regulating Police helicopters and that this is the
basis of the charges we make to the Police AOC Holders concerned. These
charges can be found on our website.

However, this would only represent a small proportion of the total costs
which would include: capital expenditure, maintenance, staff costs etc.

May we suggest that you contact the Home Office who may be able to help
you with the total costs of these helicopter operations. It must also be
pointed out that the CAA is funded by those that it regulates and
therefore, not a publicly funded organisation.

Kindest regards

Rick Chatfield
