Your request has been processed under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
(FOIA).  

 

Please note our responses have been provided in bold.

 

Your Request

 

 1. Electricity - per Kwh Day.

I would expect you to have a Contract for Electricity supply for all your
Buildings and facilities. There should therefore be one single rate that
you can report. If not, and your rates vary an average would be
acceptable.

The average cost per kwh for a day rate is £16.24.

Please note, this is based on 2021/2022 pricing, as we are yet to receive
2022/2023 pricing from our electricity company.

2. Electricity - per Kwh Night

I would expect you to have a Contract for Electricity supply for all your

you can report. If not, and your rates vary an average would be

The average cost per kwh for a night rate is £11.06.

Please note, this is based on 2021/2022 pricing, as we are yet to receive
2022/2023 pricing from our electricity company.

3. Gas - per KwH 

I would expect you to have a Contract for Gas supply for all your
Buildings and facilities. There should therefore be one single rate that
you can report. If not, and your rates vary an average would be
acceptable.

The average cost for Gas Unit Rate (p/kWh) is £2.15.

4. Petrol - per Litre -

I would expect you to have one contracted arrangement for supply for all
Council vehicles and that is the rate you should report. If not, and your
rates vary an average would be acceptable.

The average price per litre for Petrol in the current financial year is
£1.42

5. Diesel - per litre

I would expect you to have one contracted arrangement for supply for all
Council vehicles and that is the rate you should report. If not, and your
rates vary an average would be acceptable.

The average price per litre for Diesel in the current financial year is
£1.45

6. Hire car - medium car (eg Ford Focus) exc insurance, fuel and out of
hours charges.

I would expect you to have one contracted arrangement for supply for all
Council vehicles and that is the rate you should report. If not, and your
rates vary an average would be acceptable.

We are unable to provide a response to this question. 

This is because the Council has its own fleet of vehicles and does not
utilise hired cars. 

7. 30 Day Hire IT Contractor

I would expect that on occasions the Council hires an IT Contractor to
undertake support for the Councils Hardware and Software. I am looking for
the rate the Council is charged for 30 days of the Contractors time.

We are unable to provide a response to this question. 

This is because this service is delivered in-house and the Council has not
hired an IT Contractor in recent years

8. Project manager day rate

This is because this service is delivered in-house and the Council has not
hired a Systems Architect in recent years.

of staff. I am looking for the monthly charge the Council pays.

We can confirm that call charges during peak hours are not provided on
supplier invoices. Please also note that the council adopted SIP
calling to reduce its landline call costs, and as such, the greatest
percentage of calls are free.

19. Temporary staff - basic administrator Agency fee (% mark up) only (not
including salary cost)

I expect the Council will engage temporary staff from an Agency. The
Agency will normally charge a percentage fee. What is that fee?

This varies between agencies and can range from £1.44 (9%) to £5.58 (28%)

20. Bed and Breakfast Accommodation per week for Family of 4.

I expect the Council will book accommodations for homeless families. What
is the average rate paid?

£840 per week

21. Rate per hour for Reactive/Emergency Building Repairs

I am looking for the rate paid per hour for reactive repairs.

The average hourly rate for repairs and maintenance operatives is £26.18

22. Rate per hour for Reactive/Emergency Electrical & Mechanical Repairs

I am looking for the rate paid per hour for reactive repairs.

23. 6 column inch public notice - 1 day insertion fee

The figure I am seeking relates to your insertion in a local newspaper of

Our public notices differ in size weekly, however we have not used a six
inch.

The pricing of recent ads is as follows:

12 x 2 = £245.40

13 x 2 = £265.42

29 x 2 = £584.46

24. 5000 mile service to Refuse Collection Vehicle Tyre for Refuse
Collection
Vehicle Average contracted price per Km

I expect you will have Contract for maintenance of your Refuse Collection
Vehicles. I expect they will be required to be serviced at 5000 mile
intervals. I want the cost of such a service to the Council.

We can confirm that all works are completed in our own workshop. Please
note that the Council does not service vehicles at 5000 miles as we have
our own specific maintenance schedule.

25. Street Cleansing Hourly rate per day

I expect the Council will have a contract for street cleansing. This will
be priced. I am looking for the cost the Council pays per Km.

The average hourly rate for a cleansing operative is £19.63.

26. Playground Maintenance inspection

I expect the Council will have a contract for playground maintenance
inspection. This will be priced. I am looking for the cost the Council
pays per hour for inspection.

This service is delivered in-house and the average hourly rate for a
playground maintenance operative is £21.26
