Cost codes

Jenna Corderoy made this Freedom of Information request to Poole Borough Council as part of a batch sent to 415 authorities

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was refused by Poole Borough Council.

Dear Poole Borough Council,

This is a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act.

I wish to receive a list of your organisation’s cost codes and a description of what each code stands for. I use the term “cost codes” to refer to codes used by the council relating to a specific area of spending. If the council uses a different term for such spending areas, I would like to be informed of such difference.

I would like this information to be presented as follows:

Cost code: xxxx Description: xxxx (what this cost code represents)

I would like to receive this information electronically, in an Excel spreadsheet. If you feel that a substantive response to this request is not possible within a reasonable time frame I would be grateful if you could contact me and provide assistance as to how I can refine the request. I look forward to receiving a response in 20 working days. Many thanks.

Yours faithfully,

Jenna Corderoy

Dear Ms Corderoy

Thank you for your request, which we have considered under the Freedom of
Information Act.

The information you have requested is published on the Council’s website
via this [2]link and is updated monthly. The webpage provides spreadsheets
with all payment made by the Council which includes the cost code and
description. In view of this, the Council considers the information is
easily accessible by other means and is therefore exempt under Section
21(1) of the Freedom of Information Act. The section 21 exemption is
absolute and does not require the Council to carry out a public interest
test.

You may request a review of this decision, in writing and using this
mailbox [Poole Borough Council request email].

Kind regards

Communications, Information & Marketing,

Corporate Strategy Team
