Correspondence with UK Oil and Gas PLC

We're waiting for Tony Hirst to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Isle of Wight Council,

· Copies of correspondence and documents received from, or on behalf of, UK Oil and Gas PLC within the last three years regarding exploration and appraisal of hydrocarbon minerals on the Isle of Wight in addition to documents already available on the Isle of Wight Council's public planning portal.

· Copies of correspondence and documents received from, or on behalf of, UK Oil and Gas PLC within the last three years regarding potential financial disbursements or other financial considerations returned to the Isle of Wight economy, howsoever, arising from the exploitation of hydrocarbon minerals on the Isle of Wight.

· Copies of all correspondence and documents not already covered by this request sent to UK Oil and Gas PLC, or their agents, within the last three years including but not limited to those relating to: a) exploration and appraisal of hydrocarbon minerals on the Isle of Wight; b) potential financial disbursements or other financial considerations.

In the event of your not being able to accede to any individual request above, in whole or in part, please treat each separate item, in part, as a separate request independent of the others and respond appropriately to each.

Thank you for your information request dated 22^nd June 2020, and received
by the Isle of Wight Council on the same day, which is currently being
considered.

 

As required by the Freedom of Information Act 2000, the Isle of Wight
Council will respond to you as soon as possible and no later than 20
working days after the receipt of your request.

 

Under the Act, there is a limit for responding to requests where they
exceed the Appropriate Fee Limit as set out in the Freedom of Information
and Data Protection (Appropriate Limit and Fees) Regulation 2004. The fee
limit is set down by the Lord Chancellor and is £450 which equates to a
maximum of 18 hours of search and retrieval time.

 

Should your request fall into this category, we will notify you as soon as
possible, to discuss any options available to you.

 

If you have any complaints in respect of your information request, please
write to the Corporate Information Unit at County Hall, High Street,
Newport, IW, PO30 1UD; email – [1][Isle of Wight Council request email]; or complete the
online appeals form that can be found [2]here. If your complaint is not
resolved to your complete satisfaction, you have the ultimate right, once

The Planning Authority has only received one pre-application submission
from the current applicant, UKOG. However, as stated, these are
confidential.

 

· Copies of correspondence and documents received from, or on behalf of,
UK Oil and Gas PLC within the last three years regarding potential
financial disbursements or other financial considerations returned to the
Isle of Wight economy, howsoever,  arising from the exploitation of
hydrocarbon minerals on the Isle of Wight.

 

No such information is held by the Planning Authority.

 

· Copies of all correspondence and documents not already covered by this
request sent to UK Oil and Gas PLC, or their agents, within the last three
years including but not limited to those relating to: a) exploration and
appraisal of hydrocarbon minerals on the Isle of Wight; b) potential
financial disbursements or other financial considerations.

 

The Planning Authority has issued a screening opinion under the
Environmental Impact Regulations and that along with the applicant’s
information is attached, as it is public information.

Dear Danielle,

Thanks for your response (at least one of the documents formed part of the freely available planning application documents, I believe).

I note that you qualified your response in part to "No such information is held by the Planning Authority". My request was intended to be a general one relating to information held by, and correspondence entered into, agents, officials, officers, and departments of the Isle of Wight Council as a whole, not just the Planning Authority. Could you please clarify whether no such information is held across the Council, or whether that just extends to information held by the Planning Authority.
