Correspondence relating to MAC review of family migration policy
Dear Home Office,
Please consider the following as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The November 2011 report by the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) into proposed changes to the UK spouse visa system [available here: https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk... notes that Glyn Williams acted as the Home Office's representative on the committee during research into introducing a Minimum Income Requirement.

Home Office
Dear Mary
Thank you for email request for correspondence between Glyn Williams and the named individuals, between 01/06/2011 and 31/11/2011, in relation to proposed changes to the UK spouse visa system. Your request has been handled as a request for information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. Please find attached our response.

Dear Haynes Christopher,
Many thanks for your response to this request for information. Unfortunately, I believe it was answered by yourself in error. The original request was submitted to the Home Office, rather than to the Migration Advisory Committee Secretariat specifically. I would be very grateful if you would pass this request onto the Home Office team that deals with Freedom of Information requests, so that it can be answered by them rather than by the MAC which is, I note, an independent pubic body.
Yours sincerely,
Mary Atkinson
Dear Home Office,
Please note that this request has not received a response, which is long overdue. It was responded to in error by the Migration Advisory Committee - the original request was directed to the main body of the Home Office, rather than to the independent Migration Advisory Committee.
After receiving a response from the Migration Advisory Committee, which was sent in error and not in line with the original request, I sent a follow-up request on 27 March 2020, asking for the request to be responded to by the Home Office, in line with the original request. I have yet to receive any acknowledgement or other response to this.
I look forward to receiving a response from the Home Office as soon as possible.
Yours faithfully,
Mary Atkinson

Home Office
Dear FOI Requests,
Thank you for this. A clarification was sent to Christopher Haynes, who responded to the original FOI in error. The original FOI requested information from the Home Office, rather than from the Migration Advisory Committee. I have now resubmitted the original request, which I trust will be answered by the Home Office.
Many thanks,
Mary Atkinson
