Correspondence Policy
Dear Prisons and Probation Ombudsman for England and Wales,
On 11th February 2019 I wrote a letter to the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman about their death in custody recommendations being repeatedly ignored.
I have never received a reply to that letter - a copy of which you will find here http://converseprisonnews.com/ppo112019/
What is the Policy of the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman in responding to correspondence and can I have a copy of the policy - oh and a response to my letter of 11th February too if it's not too much to ask.
Thank you
Yours faithfully,
MARK LEECH FRSA

Dear Prisons and Probation Ombudsman for England and Wales,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Prisons and Probation Ombudsman for England and Wales's handling of my FOI request 'Correspondence Policy'.
I have not had a reply to my request that by law you are required to respond to. Can I please have an answer within seven days, setting out your correspondence policy, or I will lodge a formal complaint with the Information Commissioner that you are withholding information you have a legal duty to disclose.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

I am sorry but you cannot be allowed to get away with this as a response to the Freedom of Information Act response at best it is second-rate at worse it is deliberately disingenuous.
I asked for a copy of the policy - you have not provided it - why?
I stated that I had not had a response to my letter to the Ombudsman of 11th February - you ignored that and I still have not had a response - why.
I have not had a response to my further letter to the Ombudsman - why?.
You are months late in responding to this FOI - the time limits are statutory, you have no choice but to adhere to them and you have not even had the decency to apologise - why.
Please do not think that I am someone who can simply be fobbed off in this way, I will escalate this all the way to having questions asked of the Secretary of State on the floor of both Houses of Parliament as to why the Ombudsman is ignoring the law on Freedom of Information Act requests.
