2. What is the (Annual) cost of promotional items (eg pens, mugs, coasters) (exc VAT) for your contract, or contracts?

3. When were the contracts awarded and to whom?

4. When are the next review date(s)?

5. Where and what date/month/year will you be advertising your future contracts for clothing and promotional items?

6. Is there a telephone contact number and email of the
office/officer that would deal with this in the future?

Dear Mr/Ms Wilson

Thank you for your email of 20 August 2010 where you requested
information regarding : Corporate Clothing and Promotions Contracts.

The information you requested is enclosed :

1. The Council buys 2 sets of Corporate Clothing. One set for
Customer Services Staff and in 2009/10 the total cost for these uniforms
was £3867.05. In addition the Council also provides protective clothing
for Refuse Operatives and other Manual Workers, again the cost for 2009/10
was £6500.00. In both cases only a few items of clothing are actually
branded.

2. The annual cost for 2009/10 of Promotional items as identified
within your question was £2810.77.

3. For both Q1 and Q2 the Council does not have a contract for these
items. The Council works on the basis of taking 3 quotes or purchases from
selected suppliers on an as and when basis.

4. Clothing suppliers will be reviewed in April 2011. As Promotional
items are not bought on a regular basis there is no planned review date.

5. As there is no contract there is no planned date for advertising.

6. There are a number of Officers within the Council who procure
covered within your FOI request and therefore no single Officer is
responsible for this function.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request, you have the
right to ask for an internal review. Internal review requests should be
submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your
original letter and should be addressed to Michelle Carrington, Head of
