I am writing in response to your recent request for information under the Freedom of Information Act (“the Act”).

1. What is the (Annual) cost of corporate clothing (exc VAT) for your contract, or contracts?

Uniforms and staffwear annual spend = Approx. £17,500, excluding VAT

2. What is the (Annual) cost of promotional items (eg pens, mugs, coasters) (exc VAT) for your contract, or contracts?

Promotional bags and pens are ordered as and when required. Last year the University spent approximately £7,200 on bags and £5,200 on pens.

3. When were the contracts awarded and to whom?

The clothing framework agreement was awarded to Alexandra plc under the HE National PPE Contract in 2006. The University also makes spot purchases from various other suppliers.
There is no formal contract for promotional items and there are a variety of individual suppliers. Consequently we do not advertise our contract s in advance.

4. When are the next review date(s)?

The next review / renewal dates for the national framework contract are determined by the tendering body, the Southern Universities Procurement Consortium (SUPC).

5. Where and what date/month/year will you be advertising your future contracts for clothing and promotional items?

The University does not hold this information, and you may wish to contact the Contracts Manager as per question 6.

6. Is there a telephone contact number and email of the office/officer that would deal with this in the future?
