Dear Merton Borough Council,

Please could you provide the rate of confirmed coronavirus cases amongst school staff for each week in November and December.

I would like you to split the figures into primary, secondary and special schools if possible.

In addition, I would like you to split them into staff category: teacher, teaching assistant, support staff and auxiliary staff if possible.

Yours faithfully,

Aisha Latif

Dear Ms Latif

Freedom of Information Act 2000 / Environmental Information Regulations
2004 Information request F14990

We have now considered your information request as set out below.

Please could you provide the rate of confirmed coronavirus cases amongst
school staff for each week in November and December.

I would like you to split the figures into primary, secondary and special
schools if possible.

In addition, I would like you to split them into staff category: teacher,
teaching assistant, support staff and auxiliary staff if possible.

The figures are set out in the table below.   Our monitoring categories
are “Teaching staff” and “Support staff” so we have broken down the
figures on that basis.

The data that we hold is set out in the table below.  Please note we only
hold data for those schools that buy into our Payroll, and that the
figures below reflect data input by those schools into our HR/Payroll
system by 24/01/2021.   As the data we hold does not cover all schools the
rates may not be wholly representative.

As you have asked for the rate we have shown this as the number of current
in each week, including any that started in previous weeks, per 1000
staff.  Our monitoring data is held by the categories “Teaching” and
“Support” staff and our response is therefore based on these categories.
