Dear William James Crow

Re: Request for information dated 18^th May 2022 under the Freedom of
Information Act

Please refer this request to your Professional Standards Department and
provide the following information:

1. How many officers/staff were convicted of criminal offences within the
last 5 years (to date)?

2. In relation to the above, what were those offences?

3. How many officers/staff were sentenced to terms of imprisonment?

4. In relation to the above, please itemise sentences received?

Our Response:

Information concerning serving officers who receive criminal convictions
is recorded by our professional standards department (PSD)

Please note the details of criminal convictions recorded by the
Professional Standards Department, only relate to criminal convictions
over and above endorsable offences. Endorsable offences, classified as
speeding tickets, parking fines, driving without a seat belt etc, are not
recorded by the Professional Standards Department.

The system used by PSD to record allegations, complaints and misconduct is
categorised by the standards that are breached. Should a criminal
investigation be underway, or details of a criminal conviction be
recorded, this detail would be within the file. This unfortunately means
that we have no ability to facilitate a search for criminal convictions
only, by way of an electronic search.

The way information is recorded is done so for a policing purpose, not for
the purpose of obtaining statistics.

That said we do centrally record information of this nature on a separate
system. This has been maintained since 2015 only. This system is reliant
on a manual input, and updates.

We are currently reviewing the process to ensure this information is
captured more securely moving forward and we will be in a position to
respond accurately to your question by the 9^th September.

I apologise this is outside of the 20 days afforded to us under the act,
however we felt it important that the information is provided, and of
course is accurate.

Yours sincerely,

Rebecca Pritchard

Dear William James Crow

Re: Request for information dated 18^th May 2022 under the Freedom of
Information Act

Firstly I’d like to apologise for the delay in my response. Your patience
is appreciated.

Specifically asked:

Please refer this request to your Professional Standards Department and
provide the following information:

1. How many officers/staff were convicted of criminal offences within the
last 5 years (to date)?

2. In relation to the above, what were those offences?

3. How many officers/staff were sentenced to terms of imprisonment?

4. In relation to the above, please itemise sentences received?

Our Response:

That said we do centrally record information of this nature on a separate
system. This has been maintained since 2015. This system is reliant on a
manual input, and updates, and for that reason I cannot 100% guarantee the
accuracy of the information. We are currently reviewing the process to
ensure this information is captured more securely moving forward.

Below I have provided the information concerning the officers we have
centrally recorded as having received criminal convictions in the last 5
years, accurate as of the date of your request.

With regards to staff members I only have information concerning those
still employed. No employee has received a conviction in the last 5 years.
I have not been able to identify information concerning employees who have
left the organisation.

I have in addition included details of convictions received by serving
Officers, PCSO’s, Special Constables, and Staff in the table below. - None
of the below officers remain in the organisation.
