Dear Bex Friis-Jansen

I write in connection with your request for information dated 25^th
September 2018 under the Freedom of Information Act.

Specifically you asked:

I am getting in touch with you regarding a Freedom of Information request.
Please could you provide me the following information relating to your
police force for the years 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, relating to
the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 and Control of Dogs Order 1992 and Anti-social
Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014:

A) how many Community Protection Notices has your police force issued to
individuals following reports of aggressive dog behaviour in 2013, 2014,
2015, 2016 and 2017 respectively?

B) how many injunctions has your police force issued to individuals
following reports of aggressive dog behaviour in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
and 2017 respectively?

C) how many dog ownership bans has your police force issued to individuals
following reports of aggressive dog behaviour in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
and 2017 respectively?

D) how many dogs were seized by your police force in 2013, 2014, 2015,
2016 and 2017 respectively?

E) how many dogs were destroyed after seizure by your police force in
2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017?

Our response:

I regret to advise you that your aggregated request is refused because we
estimate that the cost of retrieving the requested information would
exceed the cost limits under the Act which is currently set at £450 or 18
staff hours work.  This letter represents a Refusal Notice under the Act.

This is because the information requested in part E is not centrally
recorded and would involve an extensive search of our files to find and
collate it. In order to extract the detail requested, each seizure in the
last five years would need to be manually reviewed. With over 250 seizures
in the last five years, it is estimated it would take considerably longer
than 18 hours to comply.

If you would like to refine your request in order to bring it down to a
more manageable level, we may be able to supply you with some of the
information you require. This can be done by omitting Part E. It may then
be possible to provide you with some information that you require.

Yours sincerely

Becky Berridge
