Dear Michael Jane
I am writing regarding your request for information which we received
02/10/2021.
In that request, you asked us for the following information:
Dear Highways England Company Limited,
Please could you tell me who does the contracting for your company
Yours faithfully,
We are dealing with your request under the provisions of the 2000 Freedom
of Information Act.
Unfortunately, your request is unclear, I will be unable to proceed with
your request without clarification of the specific information you wish to
receive.
To help us locate and identify this, could you tell us, do you require
information regarding who procures the contracts or are you asking who are
our contractors? If you require our contractors, please could you tell us
which work they undertake? You may find the information you require on
contract finder: https://www.gov.uk/contracts-finder
Please note that if I do not receive appropriate clarification of your

FOI Advice
Dear [email address],
Please could you tell me who your contractors who work on the roads are
Yours sincerely,
Michael Jane
Response to Information Request FOI/2522
Dear Michael Jane
Thank you for your e-mail of the 4 October 2021 following our request for
clarification.
You clarified that you wanted us to tell you who our contractors who work
on the roads are.
Unfortunately, your request is still unclear and we will be unable to
proceed with your request without further clarification of the specific
information you wish to receive.
To help us locate and identify this, could you tell us when you are asking
for who our contractors who work on the road are, are you specifically
asking which contractors operate the maintenance and repair contracts e.g.
the Asset Support Contracts and Asset Delivery contracts. This further
clarification is needed because just asking which contractors work on our
roads is a very general request and as an authority whose main role is
operating and building a road network the majority of the contractors we
procure will work on the roads in some form or another, so a more specific
request is needed in order for us to provide the information you would
actually wish to receive.
Please note that if I do not receive appropriate clarification of your
information requirements within three months from the date of this letter,
then I will consider your request closed.
Please remember to quote reference number FOI/2522 in any future
communications about this response.
Kind regards
