Accesstoinformation, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council

Dear Charlie,

We appreciate that this request is currently overdue which is why we have apologised and politely asked for an extension of 5 working days.

Whilst 20 working days is the normal timescale for compliance, this Council has been subjected to a 3 week period of Ofsted inspections which has unfortunately impacted our usual compliant response times. During this period, all staff that would typically be on hand to provide this information were otherwise prioritised.

We advised you before the 20 day period was over (due to Bank holiday allowance this was 14th June 2023) that we required a little longer to proceed with your request.

If you are unhappy with our position, I trust you can follow the complaints procedure or escalate to the ICO as follows:

If you are unhappy with the service you have received in relation to your request for information and wish to make a complaint or request a review of our decision, you should write to: Information Governance Manager, Information Governance, Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council, 3rd Floor, Old Town Hall, Blackburn, Lancashire, BB1 7DY or email [Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council request email]

If you are not content with the outcome of your complaint, you may apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision. Generally, the ICO cannot make a decision unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure provided by the Council. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: The Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF.

We will endeavour to provide you with your response by the 21st June 2023.

Kind Regards
