Continuity of the medical and pharmaceutical supply chain in the event of a "No-Deal" Brexit
Dear Grampian NHS Board,
It has been widely reported in the news media that a "No-Deal" Brexit is predicted to result in food, fuel and medicine shortages lasting between one and three months. Particular attention has been drawn to perishable pharmaceuticals and medical supplies which cannot be easily stockpiled.
My FOI request has 3 parts.
First, how does the board plan to mitigate the effect of any potential shortages and upon what advice is this based?
Second, has the board conducted an internal review or audit to determine its short term needs? In particular, has the board identified those products which cannot be adequately stockpiled for any reason?
Third, are acute shortages predicted to compromise clinical care or the availability of treatment?
Yours faithfully,
K Weir
