Dear Peter,

I think you have missed out some of the data by mistake.

You say in your letter "The figures we have available to us are as
follows for 06/07, 07/08, and first half of 08/09:

1. - total expenditure in each of these periods;
2. - the per capita CHC spend for the area covered by the PCT;
3. - number of people in receipt of continuing health care funding
in each period
4. - average value of continuing health care funding awards in each
period"
- and this matches my FOI request.

However the figures you supply as below don't meet this. There are
no 06/07 figures at all, and for 07/08 you have supplied only for
the last 6 months of the year.

Sep 07 to Mar 08

1. £6,133,177.39 (this figure does not allow for block bed spend)
2. £12.5 (assuming a 489,490 population)
3. 603 (including block beds*)
4. £821

Apr 08 to Sep 08

1. £6,647,059.20 (doesn’t allow for block bed spend)
2. £13.60 (assuming a 489,490 population)
3. 669 (including block beds*)
4. £1195.14

Could you please supply the remaining data?

Can you also clarify what the time periods are the per capita spend
(I am assuming that it is Annual per capital spend? and for the
average value of CHC awards (is that annually, weekly or something
else..?)

It would be much appreciated.

Many thanks

Yours sincerely,

David Badger

Hi Dave,

I apologise that this has not been as clear as it should have been. The
information provided is the information that is currently
accessible/available.

Due to the lack of a computerised system to track Continuing Health Care
(CHC) services prior to September 07 the data is not available in an
accessible format. It would take in excess of the £450 appropriate limit
to collate the pre September 07 figures. To this effect we have provided
the information that is currently available from our systems.

I will seek clarification on the calculations on time periods and respond
under a separate cover.

Regards,

Pete Conoulty (295 3012)

Hi Dave,

Sincerest apologies for the delay in providing clarification regarding
your request and response. The total spend is based upon annualised
spend. This is based on the financial not calendar years.

To reiterate, we do not hold the information prior to September 07,
please see the previous request regarding this.

I hope this can close the request.
