Contact details and budget information for the training of qualified nurses.
Dear Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust,
I am writing to request contact information for the person that is responsible for the training of qualified nurses within your hospital. This information needs to consist of name, address, contact number and email address.
I also would like to request the annual budget spent on nurse qualifications (post registration qualifications).
Thanks for your FOI request which we received yesterday. We will respond within 20 working days.
Thanks for your FOI request.
The responsibility for ensuring that Nursing Staff are appropriately trained ultimately lies with Patrick Sullivan, as the Director of Nursing. He is based at Trust Headquarters, the address for which is available on the Trust's website. The switchboard number is 01772 695300.
In terms of a specific budget for the training of Registered Nurses the key budgets would be the Service Level Agreements with UCLAN and the University of Cumbria. The budgets for this year are 72,530 and 32,367 respectively. Training has also been accessed through the MPET funding and the training plan for this budget has included work on Clinical risk management, Clinical supervision and safeguarding all of which are relevant to Registered Nurses but not specifically for them. The MPET budget this year is 65,000.
Each network also has its own training budget and this does not include a specific element for nurse training and can be used in a variety of ways across a range of professions.
I hope this answers your FOI. If you are unhappy with the way the Trust has handled your request, you may ask for an internal review by contacting the FOI Lead at [email address]
If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a decision.
