Consultations regarding constable oath rewording
Dear Home Office,
Please provide details of the consultations that took place wherein it was decided to remove the word 'sovereign' from the oath of constable, and also to change the wording to necessitate only prescribed offences being covered, as opposed to general duty to protect and serve.
This seems a fundamental change and I'd like to understand how it has come about.
Yours faithfully,
Philip Collins
