Consultation
Dear Cardiff City Transport Services Limited,
Cardiff Bus were refusing to stop at a bus stop next to the crematorium on Port Road East, in Barry in November 2014. Cardiff Bus then asked for minor remedial works to take place before the bus stop would be used.
- How was Cardiff Bus involved in the design process of this bus stop?
- Did Cardiff Bus see the proposed bus stop when it was a drawing, prior to the physical work that took place?
- Did Cardiff Bus have any concerns when shown the drawing, was Cardiff Bus able to communicate any concerns, and were any concerns addressed by the council?
- Please would you supply the copy of Cardiff Bus' response to the council to the design.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Speed cushions and a flat-topped hump are currently being installed on Dinas Powys on a bus route.
- What communication has Cardiff Bus received about this work and the proposed design from the Vale of Glamorgan Council?
- Has Cardiff Bus been involved in the design and able to ensure that bus passengers will not be jolted by bus wheels mounting the new speed cushions?
- Please would you supply the copy of Cardiff Bus' response to the council to the design.
Parking is allowed on this residential street, so the most desirable path of the bus may be blocked at times.
Yours faithfully,
Ian Perry

Dear Mr Perry
Thank you for your recent request for information under the Freedom of
Information Act. I note the points you make with reference to the bus
stop next to the crematorium on Port Road East, in Barry in November 2014.
It is usual practice for the local authority to engage in discussion with
bus operators to ensure a mutual agreement to bus stop locations and
designs but on this occasion no such consultation occurred - if it had we
would have registered our concerns. Regrettably I am unable to assist you
with the information you seek and respectfully suggest that you make
contact with The Vale of Glamorgan Council who may be able to assist you
further.
Turning to your second query about speeds cushions and a flat topped hump
being installed in Dinas Powys on the bus route, I can confirm that we
have received correspondence on this issue and I enclose as requested a
copy of the response from our Operations and Commercial Director.
If you are dissatisfied with this response for any reason you do have a
right to request an internal review. Internal review requests should be
submitted within two months of the date of receipt of the response to your
original letter and should be addressed to:
Mr D James
Associate Finance Director

the outcome. If, having requested an internal review by
Cardiff City Transport Services Limited, you are still not satisfied with
our response you also have a right of appeal to the Information
