Consultation - 20mph for Saltdean
2. Moving onto the literature, there is a bold statement that "research clearly shows that a 20mph speed limit leads to a reduction in road collisions and the severity of casualties". Therefore under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I would like to ask that I am provided with:-
a) a list of statistics for the past 4 calendar years (finishing last year, 2013) for all road traffic collisions in the Brighton and Hove side of Saltdean excluding those in Longridge Avenue reported to Sussex Police;
b) the categorisation of the collisions in part (a) above, listed by severity into the Highways Agency's 3 categories of accident severity (namely Fatal, Serious and Slight);
c) the estimated speed of those reported incidences in part (a), broken down into 10mph bandings;
d) Brighton and Hove County Council's forecast estimated reductions in incidences within this geographical location for the subsequent 2 calendar years post-implementation of the reduced speed limits proposal.
3. Can you provide air pollution figures of nitrogen oxides and CO2 in the city both before the 20mph limits came into place and since they have now been imposed?
