Thank you for your recent enquiry shown below.

 

 a. Who provides your WAN and internet connectivity and the annual spend
on each - WMBC WAN and Internet connectivity is provided by The
Networking People (TNP).
 b. Who provides your SIP trunks and what is the annual spend?   TNP
 c. Who provides your WAN services, is this MPLS, SD WAN or Internet, and
what is the annual spend?   TNP
 d. Who provides your LAN infrastructure and what is your annual spend?  
WMBC LAN infrastructure is split between new HP/Aruba and Cisco LAN
based equipment at the Edge and Core. Support is provided by The
Networking People (TNP) as WMBC Network Partner.
 e. Who provides your WIFI infrastructure and what is your annual spend?  
WiFi infrastructure was replaced in 2021 with HP/Aruba across the
entire estate. Licencing was procured with a 5 year support and
maintenance licence. Additional annual spend may be required on an
AD-HOC basis as and when additional AP’s are required.
 f. Please confirm the manufacturer(s) of your wired network core and edge
switching?   HP/Aruba Wireless with a mix of HP/Aruba edge switches in
addition to some Cisco kit within both the edge and core.
 g. When was your core network installed?   Not known due to refreshes of
the network over time and personnel changes.  Installation date of
last/current iteration was circa 2016.
 h. Has it been updated subsequently?   No
 i. Who maintains your core network?   TNP
 j. When is the contract renewal date?  19/01/2025
 k. Please confirm value of the initial project?   As g above, no recorded
information.
 l. Please confirm the value of annual support/maintenance services (in

We decline to provide any further costs related information or to break
down costs into individual services provided under that contract under
Section 43 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000. It is the Council’s
belief that the information you have requested is commercially sensitive
and having given consideration to the fact that the information requested
could be used/passed on to gain an unfair advantage for future tender
exercises, this part of your request is refused under the exemption
contained in section 43 (2) of The Freedom of Information Act 2000.

 

The Council considers that the disclosure of the information would be
likely to prejudice the commercial interests both of the public authority
and its suppliers and may also affect the Council’s ability to do business
in future. The Council considers the public interest in maintaining the
exemption under s43 in this case outweigh the public interest in
disclosure.

 

You have the right under Section 17 of the Freedom of Information Act 2000
to ask for an internal review of the refusal of the information requested.
