Conflict of interest statements
Dear Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons,
Please could I have the conflict of interest statements plus any intra-year updates to these for all years from 2016 onwards during which Dr Christopher (Kit) Sturgess was a council member or otherwise held a position of responsibility/ leadership within RCVS or RCVS Knowledge / Veterinary Evidence such that a COI declaration form was required?
Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
L Buckley

Dear RCVS Information Request,
Thank you for your response but the information provided is not that which I asked for. I did not ask for a web profile for Kit Sturgess from 2017 and it does not sufficiently address my queries. Therefore, I have reformulated them to provide additional helpful scaffolding.
1. Please can you confirm in which years your organisation requested the completion of a conflict of interest statement form of Kit Sturgess (i.e. such that there is written documentation - email, paper copy, PDF, etc) and in which of these years this was supplied by Kit Sturgess.
2. In which years Kit Sturgess has indicated either in the conflict of interest statement or in any supplementary correspondence that there has been an association or connection with the pharmaceutical company Zoetis.
3. For any years in which this is reported, please indicate the nature of the association/connection.
4. For any year in which there is conflict of interest information provided, whether there are any statements which are ambiguous/do not clearly indicate the organisation that a conflict of interest may be present for.
5. If there are any ambiguous statements, can you confirm whether the RCVS followed up these statements at any time between submission and 2025 to establish who the organisation was? If yes, a) when was this done, and b) was this done in writing?, and c) what was the outcome?
6. Has there been any written correspondence between RCVS and RCVS Knowledge (or its representatives, past or present) since March 2023 in respect of: Zoetis and / or Kit Sturgess and a published knowledge summary on the topic of Librela?
Yours sincerely,
Ms Buckley
