Computor software employed in car parking calculation for housing developments

The request was partially successful.

Dear West Berkshire Council,
Could you please advise on the computer software used in the calculation of car parking for housing developments.
What is the cost of this software
How many times has this software been employed for 2015
Since beginning of 2015, how many developments within WBC boundaries has this software has been employed
How is training and the use of this software carried out
What data is required to be in-putted into the software to allow the calculations to be performed
Where a change of use is carried out, there are no or limited parking available, what will be the impact on the parking calculations

Yours faithfully,

Derek Prudden

Dear Mr Prudden,

Request for information: Computer software employed in car parking
calculation for housing developments

Please see below the Council’s response to your request for information.

Could you please advise on the computer software used in the calculation
of car parking for housing developments.

I have discussed your request with the Highways service who have confirmed
that; there is no software of this nature.

In each case, determining car parking levels is a matter of judgement with
reference to the attached current parking standards set out in appendix 5
of the West Berkshire District Local Plan Saved Policies 2007.

If you are unhappy with the way your request has been handled, you may ask
for an internal review. You should contact David Lowe, Scrutiny &
Partnerships Manager, Strategic Support, Council Offices, Market Street,
Newbury RG14 5LD, email [1][email address]  if you wish to request
a review. If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review,
you have the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at:

Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow,
Cheshire SK9 5AF

If you have any queries about this letter, please contact me.

Yours sincerely,
