Your email has been received by Imperial College London. Imperial College
is closed between Thursday 1 April 2021 and Tuesday 6 April 2021. We will
respond to your communication when the College reopens reopens on
Wednesday 7 April 2021 or soon after. This will not affect the 20 working
day response time for FOI requests.

IMPFOI, Imperial College London

Dear Maisoun,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act request, below. Imperial
College publishes undergraduate admissions statistics for the past 5
completed admissions cycles. These include:

o Number of applicants, offers and places confirmed
o Average BMAT Scores
o Details of A level, IB and STEP Offers Made
o New Entrants' Achieved A level and IB Grades
o Admissions Rate by Nationality

The published information can be accessed at the [1]transparency pages of
our website (scroll to the bottom of the page to the link “Download the
Undergraduate Admission Statistics”). While the published figures do not
include information about the number of applicants invited to interview,
as they show the number of applicants, offers made and A Level grades
achieved by successful applicants, they may be sufficient for your
purposes.

It is not possible for the College to supply information about the A
Levels subjects that applicants are studying, unless achieving a certain
grade in a particular subject is a condition of an offer made to a
student.

If you are unhappy with the way that we have handled your request, you can
ask us to conduct a review. Please make your representation in writing
within 40 days of the date you received this response. If you remain
dissatisfied with how Imperial College has handled your request, you may
then approach the [2]Information Commissioner’s Office.

Yours,

Dear Imperial College London,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Imperial College London's handling of my FOI request 'Computing MEng AI Admissions Statistics'.

I have requested information about a very specific course called : MEng Computing ( Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning).
Imperial College London(ICL) does not publish any statistics about the specific course that I have just mentioned. I am unsatisfied with the response that I had received from ICL since those statistics proposed are very irrelevant to my request and are NOT "sufficient" to my "purposes".

Complaining about the response, I would like ICL to provide me with the specific requested details for the specific Computing course requested.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,

Maisoun Namoura Alaa Eldin

Dear Maisoun,

Thank you for your email. Your request was as follows:

Application statistics for: MEng Computing (Machine Learning and
Artificial Intelligence/ G700) for the past 3 year cycles.

1) Number of applicants

2) Number of applicants interviewed

3) Number of offers made

4) Number of offer holders that took A-level Further Maths.

5) Number of offer holders that took A-level Physics.

6) Number of offer holders that took A-level Further Maths and Physics at
the same time.

The published information that we referred you to does contain specific
information on the number of applicants to the specific course mentioned
and offers made. See second tab, rows 61-64.

As explained in our response, it is not possible for the College to supply
information about the A Levels subjects that applicants are studying,
unless achieving a certain grade in a particular subject is a condition of
an offer made to a student. Would you like us to provide information on
conditional offers made to applicants for the G700 programme where
obtaining a certain grade in one of the subjects that you have specified
was a condition of an offer made to a student?

We could also provide the number of undergraduate applicants interviewed
by the Department of Computing, but please note that applicants often
apply for more than one programme so applicants are not necessarily
interviewed for a single specific programme.

Please advise how you wish to proceed.

Yours,

Anita Hunt

Dear IMPFOI,

If you mean the tab the is called "Undergraduate Student Degree Classification", then it requires a username and a password. Hence, I am not allowed to access those information.

Moreover, yes, please do provide:
1) information on conditional offers made to applicants for the G700 programme where
obtaining a certain grade in one of the subjects that you have specified
was a condition of an offer made to a student.

2) the number of undergraduate applicants interviewed
by the Department of Computing, for the specified course.

Yours sincerely,

Maisoun Namoura Alaa Eldin

Dear Maisoun,

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Act request, which was as
follows:

MEng Computing (Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence/ G700) for
the past 3 year cycles:

1) information on conditional offers made to applicants for the G700
programme where obtaining a certain grade in specific subjects was a
condition of an offer made to a student.

2) the number of undergraduate applicants interviewed

We have been advised that providing the information requested at point 1
above would not provide an accurate picture because of the way in which
offers are made. The entry requirements of G700 are very specific and the
specified subjects [1]are listed on the website in terms of required and
useful/recommended subjects. Any offers made where obtaining a certain
grade in specific subjects were a condition of the offer would always
specify the required or recommended/useful subjects; conditional offers
would not refer to other subjects that are not
required/recommended/useful.

The Department only capture interview data in terms of academic year in
which they are receiving applications and interviewing applicants. The
interview data is as follows:

G700
No of people interviewed in 2017-18 academic year for entry to either
Sept 2018 or Sept 2019 119
No of people interviewed in 2018-19 academic year for entry to either
Sept 2019 or Sept 2020 114
No of people interviewed in 2019-20 academic year for entry to either
Sept 2020 or Sept 2021 162
No of people interviewed in 2020-21 academic year for entry to either
Sept 2021 or Sept 2022 116

If you are unhappy with the way that we have handled your request, you can
ask us to conduct a review. Please make your representation in writing
within 40 days of the date you received this response. If you remain
dissatisfied with how Imperial College has handled your request, you may
then approach the [2]Information Commissioner’s Office.
