Dear Jordan Taylor,
Your request was received on 14 December 2017 and I am dealing with it under the terms of the
Freedom of Information Act 2000 (‘the Act’).
You asked:
I am making a request regarding the statistics for Computer Science (G400) undergraduate
applicants in the past three application cycles to Gonville and Caius College.
Could you provide the following information:
1) How many and what percentage of applicants for computer science at Gonville and Caius
college receive an interview after submitting an application.
2) The average amount of A*s at GCSEs successful applicants have (both the college and the
university average)
3) The average maths UMS average of successful applicants provided in the SAQ (both the
college and the university average)
The requested information, insofar as it is held, is attached. Information about interviews is not held; all
interview processes for entry to undergraduate degree courses at the University are set and managed
locally by each of the individual Colleges, each of which is a separate legal entity and public authority
under the Act. Please note that the attached document should not be copied, reproduced or used
except in accordance with the law of copyright.

Notes
A Levels in England are currently undergoing a period of significant reform. Many applicants applying
from October 2016 onwards wil be fol owing linear, rather than modular, A level syl abuses meaning
UMS
that UMS is no longer available in a number of subjects. UMS and SUMS data provided in this request is
as supplied by the applicant at the point of entry, but may also include linear marks incorrectly
presented as such.
