Dear Mr Dickinson,
Thank you for your FOI request sent on 27^th February 2019. You asked:
In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as
specifically as possible.
Please can you provide information on the following:
1. Does your NHS Trust use a computer assisted facilities
management system?
2. If no, are there on-going plans to purchase a computer assisted
facilities management system in the future?
3. What is the name of the computer assisted facilities management

5. Value of the current contract, date of commencement and date of
expiry.
6. Who is responsible for ensuring the computer assisted
facilities management system meets the NHS Trust’s requirements?
Under Section 1(1)(a) of the Freedom of Information Act 2000, I can
confirm that The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust holds
information that falls within the definition in your request which is set
out below:
1. Does your NHS Trust use a computer assisted facilities management
system?
Yes

facilities management system in the future?
Not applicable
3. What is the name of the computer assisted facilities management system
(product name) and which company is it purchased from?
Micad
4. Provide brief information on the process in use at the NHS Trust to
manage reactive and planned maintenance work including how this is
recorded and scheduled.
Reactive job requests are either telephoned or requested via Intranet and
assigned to staff electronically. Planned maintenance is scheduled via
Micad and assigned the same way.
5. Value of the current contract, date of commencement and date of expiry.
Contract start 15^th April 2019 on a 2yr contract.
Costs included for training implementation and additional modules & second
system on the IPR.
Under Section 43 of the Act, it is the view of The Shrewsbury and Telford
Hospital NHS Trust that the contract value of Micad is exempt from
disclosure as releasing this information would prejudice our abilities as
a public authority to operate competitively within a commercial market.
Specifically, releasing such information would reveal to potential
contractors the price breakdown that has been paid by the Trust and
thereby reduce our ability in future to negotiate prices that offer the
best value to the public purse. The Trust has considered the public
interest test and given the potential burden on the public purse has
assessed that the public interest in disclosing this information is not
outweighed by the public interest in safeguarding the commercial interests
of the Trust.
6. Who is responsible for ensuring the computer assisted facilities
management system meets the NHS Trust’s requirements?
Head of Estates
Please also find attached a briefing which explains your rights to request
a review by the Trust or to complain to the Information Commissioner’s
