Dear Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust,
Freedom of information act request
Is the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust prepared to entertain a request under the Freedom of Information Act pertaining to a comprehensive recall of patients over a 25-year period who underwent procedures conducted by John Bradley Williamson, a former spinal surgeon of Salford Royal, The Manchester children's hospital .
IF so please can you let myself know when this will be engaged or if your not considered this at trust board meeting will you bring the question up at your next board meeting .

Please find below response in relation to your recent internal review request.
Is the Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust prepared to entertain a request under the Freedom of Information Act pertaining to a comprehensive recall of patients over a 25-year period who underwent procedures conducted by John Bradley Williamson, a former spinal surgeon of Salford Royal, The Manchester children's hospital .
The NCA has already conducted a detailed, independent external review which has been released to the public and can be accessed from Northern Care Alliance releases independent report into previous management of concerns regarding a Consultant Spinal Surgeon :: Northern Care Alliance
IF so, please can you let myself know when this will be engaged or if you're not considered this at trust board meeting will you bring the question up at your next board meeting .
Following the external review described in response to your previous question, we are able to confirm that the Trust Board continues to maintain active oversight of the implementation of the recommendations contained within that review.

I am following up on my FOI request regarding the look-back review conducted two years ago, which you mentioned was incomplete.
Additionally, I would like to address the following points:
1. For any patients who believe they have been affected by the actions of John Bradley Williamson, Spinal Surgeon, please come forward.
2. My FOI question is: Can you explain why the spinal surgeons at your hospital have refused to conduct reviews for more than 20 individuals who have come forward, citing that they would only proceed with a review if a legal agreement was signed?
3. Did you state this or not?
4. Furthermore, can you provide details on how many reviews are being conducted by Lee Breakwell, and how much the Trust is paying for these private reviews?

In response to your recent internal review, please see below responses:
1. For any patients who believe they have been affected by the actions of
John Bradley Williamson, Spinal Surgeon, please come forward.
This cannot be answered under the FOIA
2. My FOI question is: Can you explain why the spinal surgeons at your
hospital have refused to conduct reviews for more than 20 individuals
who have come forward, citing that they would only proceed with a
review if a legal agreement was signed?
NCA surgeons have conducted as many reviews as were possible without
having an impact on care of current patients.
3. Did you state this or not?

4. Furthermore, can you provide details on how many reviews are being
conducted by Lee Breakwell, and how much the Trust is paying for these
private reviews?
We have commissioned two independent external reviewers in order that NCA
surgeons are able to focus on providing care for current patients. Under
the Data Protection Act we are not providing the cost under FOI
