REQUEST FOR INFORMATION UNDER THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000.
In accordance with the provisions specified within the above Act I hereby request the following information.
Information Requested; -
• A copy of all Non Domestic Rates Completion Notices served in the borough since 01/01/2023 or list of addresses showing the same information.
The Act requires that a response be provided within a period of 20 working days from the date hereof.
This request for information falls within the parameters of the Act but if you require clarification on any of the points above or should you wish to discuss this further then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Copied correspondence - we do not respond to correspondence that has been copied to us.

Thank you for your Freedom of Information Request dated 20/06/2023.

 

I can confirm that the council holds this information, however it is
exempt from disclosure by virtue of Section 22 of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. This is because the information was already intended
for publication at the time your request was received.

 

This exemption is a qualified exemption which means it is subject to the
Public Interest Test which I have conducted accordingly.

 

It is clear that you, having made the request, have an interest in the
requested information. That aside it is the wider public interest in this
information which is to be considered. The Council acknowledge there is a
public interest in openness and transparency in respect of the requested
data.

 

The public have a strong interest in ensuring that the Council is able to
conduct their statutory functions and provide public services properly and
efficiently. Given the current workload and priorities of the team
responsible for collating and publishing this information, it is not
possible to bring the date of publication forward.

 

Having considered the public interest, the council’s decision is therefore
to withhold the information at this time.

Please find attached the council’s information governance appeals
procedure for your information. Please remember to quote the reference
number above in any future communications.
