Complaints of businesses ignoring coronavirus lock down rules

The request was successful.

Dear Birmingham City Council,

Apologies for putting in several requests within a short period.

The Local Democracy Reporters at Reach are aiming to ask councils across the country about businesses ignoring the coronavirus lock down rules, and there are a set of questions we have been asked to put to you.

Could I please ask under the Freedom of Information Act 2000:

* How many complaints has your trading standards department received in the w/c March 16 and the w/c March 23, 2019?
* Can you provide a breakdown of what these complaints related to?
If this information is unavailable, can you provide what the three most-complained about issues are?
* How many trading standards officers do you currently have working? And/or how many inspections visits are you making each day/week? Have you had to increase the workforce of trading standards to cope with a rise in caseload?
* How many trading enforcement actions against businesses have you carried out in the w/c March 16 and the w/c March 23?
* Can you provide a breakdown of what these enforcements related to?
* How many complaints have you received about licensed premises over the two weeks?
* Can you provide a breakdown of these complaints or - if unavailable - provide some examples of the type of issues raised.
* Can you provide any figures for enforcement actions - and break these down by warnings, fines, prosecutions etc?
* Can you provide any images relating to enforcement action taken?

Thanks very much for your time.

Yours faithfully,

Mark Cardwell

Dear Birmingham City Council,

If possible, could I please amend my request?

Rather than covering just "the w/c March 16 and the w/c March 23, 2019", could it please run from March 16 to the most recent date you have information for at the time of replying to this request?

Thanks very much for your time.

Yours sincerely,

Mark Cardwell

Birmingham City Council
