Complaints - numbers, outcomes & timescales
Dear Health and Care Professions Council,
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act (2000).
The information that I request is regarding complaints that the HCPC receives regarding regulated psychologists.
Could you please provide the following information :
1 : How many complaints you have received about regulated psychologists in the last 3 years, broken down by each year.
2 : Out of these, for each year, how many were upheld, how many were part upheld, and how were not upheld?
3 : Out of the ones that were upheld or part upheld, what figures fell under each outcome listed on your website. Please give a number beside each outcome, for each of the last 3 years.
4 : For just the complaints that reach a final hearing, please share what the shortest, longest and average time for a complaint to be concluded was for each (from the date the complaint was filed to the date that it was concluded at a final hearing).
Thank you for your help with these questions, I appreciate it.
I'm making this request on here as I'm sure this information will be of interest to anyone who has made, or is considering making a complaint, or who is interested in how accountable psychologists are, and the level of protection that being regulated by the HCPC gives to families during their family court proceedings.
I look forward to receiving your response within the next 20 days as outlined in the information Commissioners guidance.
With regards
Jo
