Complaints Framework - Annex B

The request was successful.

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

In your reply to my earlier FOI request (RFI20221193) you kindly told me "We can confirm that, as of November 2022, there are a total of 918 email addresses with which the BBC is not corresponding.".

Please provide any manuals, instructions and/or guidance notes that allow Complaints Department staff to identify emails destined for Annex B and then deal with them appropriately.

Thank you.

Yours faithfully,

Mr A Willmore

Dear British Broadcasting Corporation,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of British Broadcasting Corporation's handling of my FOI request 'Complaints Framework - Annex B'.

Unfortunately, you did not answer my question. I asked specifically how incoming complaints are identified from the 900+ email addresses already assigned to Annex B. Instead, you explained how complainants can be placed in Annex B and the reasoning behind it. That is not the information I requested.

My original request was: "Please provide any manuals, instructions and/or guidance notes that allow Complaints Department staff to identify emails destined for Annex B and then deal with them appropriately". For clarification, I would like to know how each individual complaint is identified to be treated under Annex B rules once a complainant has already been identified as being subject to Annex B processing. There must be some procedure that your Complaints Department staff follow, even if it is only to manually cross-reference the sender's email with the 900+ you have on file. It is the details of this procedure that are of interest to me.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,

Mr A Willmore

Dear FOI Enquiries,

Please confirm receipt of my request for an internal review, sent on 13th February.

Thank you.

Dear Mr Willmore

I refer to your internal review request below.

I would like to clarify my understanding of your request. I have understood it as meaning that you would like information (manuals, instructions and/or guidance notes) about how correspondents and incoming email addresses are identified by the BBC as being someone / an email address that is subject to the closed correspondence process under Annex B of the Complaints Framework.

Please can you confirm whether this understanding is correct. Please note, the timeframe for providing a response will be paused until the requested clarification is provided.

Kind regards
