Dear Dumfries and Galloway NHS Board,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Dumfries and Galloway NHS Board's handling of my FOI request 'Complaints.'.

The request for an Internal Review relates to the query at (4) in the original post.

The issue in question is who, or what, determines the complaints handling procedure for the DGNHSB? There must be an official policy governing the manner in which complaints are dealt with, so who is responsible for this? What guidelines exist to staff dealing with complaints? Who is responsible for issuing these? Is a copy available?

I reject your outright dismissal of this question on the grounds it is outwith the remit of the Freedom of Information Act.

Since this request has been covered online, it is appropriate that you respond here. You do not have the right to dictate the method of dealing with this.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/c...

Yours faithfully,

Frances Kerridge

Despite an internal Review asking specifically for the information requested at item (4) it is disappointing to note that Dumfries and Galloway NHS Board continue to fail to supply the details that were sought. This can only be construed as deliberate obstruction.

Whilst it is possible to pursue via the SPSO, it may be worthwhile having another attempt to obtain this information.

The refusal to comply with the FOI Act suggests they have something to hide, or do not want to be available to the public. This is unacceptable for such a public body.
