Dear Y Stewart
Thank you for your email.

Your request has made through the' Whatdotheyknow' website but this site is specifically for FOI requests and not for general guidance from public authorities.
The information you require is already in the public domain and therefore it would not be provided under the FOI legislation.

Hi Y Stewart,
Just to let you know that I'm afraid the adviser from
Companies House is correct in this case. Your request for information does not fall under the purview of the Freedom of Information Act.
Your enquiry is in regards to information that is already publicly known (i.e. In this case; the legislation surrounding whether you need a company secretary is detailed within the Companies Act 2006).
Just thought that I'd let you know that you can have 1 sole director & no secretary. This didn't use to be the case, but it was swapped a while ago.
Another note, Companies House enquiry team is always very very helpful & approachable. Simply google 'Companies House contact' to find their email address & phone number.
Regards
J
