Companies Act 2006 sections 82 - 84

The request was successful.

Dear Companies House,

I have a 3 part question.

1. What are the penalties for companies which issue invoices that breach of Companies Act 2006 sections 82 - 84 for not divulging company address, company number and place of registration.

2.a) How many companies have been prosecuted for such a breach in the last 2 years.

b.) How many companies have been brought to the notice of Companies House for such a breach,

3. If companies commit such a breach, which department, organisation or person should be made aware of these breaches.

Yours faithfully,

Patrick Troy

Dear Mr Troy

With reference to your email dated 18 December 2009. Please accept my
apologies for the delay in responding.

I have answered your questions in the order they appear in your request.

1) What are the penalties for companies which issue invoices that breach
of Companies Act 2006 sections 82-84 for not divulging company address,
company number and place of registration?

The penalty for companies which issue invoices that breach sections 82-84
of the Companies Act 2006 would be level 3 (£1000) on the standard
scale. Please note however that invoices only need to carry the company's
registered name.

2. a) How many companies have been prosecuted for such a breach in
the last 2 years.

There have been no companies prosecuted for such a breach in the last two
years.

b.) How many companies have been brought to the notice of Companies
House for such a breach?

473 complaints regarding breaches of sections 82-84 have been brought to
Companies House attention since 1 October 2008.

3. If companies commit such a breach, which department, organisation or
person should be made aware of these breaches.

Letters of complaint regarding breaches of the Companies Act 2006 should
be addressed to the Technical Offences Team, Companies House, Crown Way,
Maindy, Cardiff, CF14 3UZ or emails addressed to the Technical Offences
