Community Speed Watch

Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner did not have the information requested.

Dear Sussex Police and Crime Commissioner, when a parish council, or a group of residents apply to set up a community speed watch, they discuss with the local police force the required equipment and training. Also the local police force implement a risk assessment for the community speed watch team as to how they position themselves adjacent to the highway.

I would like to understand the requirements and parameters of this risk assessment whereby the community speed watch are advised where they should be positioned, and what effect road junctions, vehicle activated signs, road layout and bends are taken into account.

Yours faithfully, Dr Dan Slattery
