Dear Owen Dunn

Re: Request for Information (RFI: 2834)  (CCC) Community Sounding boards

Please provide me with any papers, decisions, and other documents relating
to the formation of "Community Sounding Boards", which some residents have
mentioned.

Thank you for your request for information above, which we have dealt with
under the terms of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

I hope the following will answer your query:

Cambridge City Council does not have a programme specifically called
“Community Sounding Board” but we do offer Area Committees – a forum for
residents to learn about developments in their area and participate in
decision making – you can find all minutes and documents of the meetings
here:
[1]https://www.cambridge.gov.uk/get-involve...

There are also resident’s meetings and community days:

The Greater Cambridge Partnership has a Community Sounding Group which may
be what you are referring to. You can find more information including
members, meeting documents and contact details here:

We aim to provide a high quality service to you and hope that you are
satisfied with this response. If you have any further questions please do
not hesitate to contact us.

FOI, Greater Cambridge Partnership

Dear Owen

Re: Freedom of Information Request ref: FOI_863056

I write with reference to your e-mail in which you asked the following:

Please provide me with any papers, decisions, and other documents relating
to the formation of "Community Sounding Boards", which some residents have
mentioned.

We have considered your request under the terms of the Freedom of
Information Act and would advise:

All information pertaining to the Community Sounding Group to date can be
found at https://www.greatercambridge.org.uk/comm...

By way of further information, the Greater Cambridge Partnership (GCP)
seeks to engage widely with a full range of stakeholders in development of
its programme and its schemes.

The trial Community Sounding Group (singular) is still at a relatively
early stage and has been established in response to a number of issues and
feedback. It is not a decision-making body and does not form part of the
Governance arrangements for GCP; it is intended to complement existing
channels for engagement and we’ll listen and respond to feedback on this.

It is hoped the CSG will provide an opportunity for officers to meet with
a group of people offering a range of perspectives in ‘focus group’ style
to help us better understand the implications or impact of policy on
different groups and, in this way, improve our proposals. We’ll listen to
feedback

I hope this information is helpful but if you are unhappy with the service
you have received in relation to your request and wish to make a complaint
or request a review, you should write to Information Management, at either
[1][email address] or by post at Box No. OCT1224, Shire Hall,
Cambridge CB3 0AP within 40 days of the date of this e-mail.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information
Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9
5AF, or via their website: [2]https://ico.org.uk/.

Generally, the ICO will not undertake a review or make a decision on a
request until the internal review process has been completed.

Yours sincerely
