COMMUNITY CENTRE PRICING 2023/24
1.1
Community Lets
The minimum charge for a let is one hour. Lets for part of an hour will be charged at the
hourly rate. In some circumstances, depending on the nature of the Let or if the Let is
requested for outwith normal operating hours, it will be necessary to apply additional
staffing, utility and cleaning charges. Additional charges for PRSPPL and technical staff
may apply dependent on the nature of the Let.

Definition of Community Let Categories
Commercial Rate
Refers to any for profit group/organisation/individual that will be taking
income or commercial gain from the let/lease.
Standard Rate
Refers to all other lets including any group/organisation/individual that is a
not for profit but may have entry/membership fees, business enterprise or
public sector organisation. Also, to be used for all one-off social functions.
This rate can also be used for an initial 6-week maximum taster before a
group/organisation/individual is charged a commercial rate
Community Rate
Refers to group/organisation/individual that is not for profit, is a registered
charity, organised local fundraising event, community event or voluntary
organisation. This rate can also be used for an initial 6-week maximum
taster before a group/organisation/individual is charged a standard rate as
described above. Also see 1.7
Discretionary
The primary purpose is to support new Lets establish themselves within

the centre. Only to be used for a maximum 6-week trial basis before going
onto a community rate and only for those who are eligible for a community
rate as described above. The venue management team agree hourly rate.

Definition of Hall Sizes
▪ Sports Hall
- More than 360 square metres
▪ Large Hall
- More than 240 square metres but less than 360 square metres
▪ Medium Hall
- More than 120 square metres but less than 240 square metres
▪ Small Hall/Room - Under 120 square metres

Special Packages
The charge for packages, i.e. weddings, socials, concerts and special events, will be
agreed on application. Standard rental charges are applicable.
1.6 Additional Costs
Additional charges will apply depending on Let requirements / event specifications. Lets
must be requested four weeks prior to let date; when the staffing rota is completed there
may be additional charges applied.
▪ Staffing charges per hour for 2023/24 is £19 +VAT and minimum of 4 hours for all
out of normal operating hours. (£22.80)
▪ Utilities cost per hour for 2023/24 is £15 per hour + VAT (£18.00) for all Lets out of
normal operating Hours.
▪ The standard charge for a large kitchen is £35.00 + VAT (£42.00) and a small
kitchen is £17.50 + VAT (£21.00), irrespective of the number of hours used.
▪ The standard charge for a PA system is £25.00 +VAT (£30.00), irrespective of the
number of hours used.
▪ Hire of star curtain £40.00 +VAT (£48.00)
▪ Hire of lectern £22.00 +VAT (£26.40)
▪ Hire of screens £22.00 +VAT (£26.40)
▪ Hire of Projector £22.00 +VAT (£26.40)
▪ Hire of flipcharts £22.00 +VAT (£26.40)
▪ Hire of Stage Lighting £25.00 +VAT (£30.00)
▪ Hire of Microphone £35.00 +VAT (£42.00)
▪ Hire of additional Microphone £15.00 +VAT (£18.00)
▪ Technician £30 + VAT per hour (£36.00)
▪ Cleaning £30 + VAT (£36.00), for Lets / Events that require extra cleaning and/or for
Lets/Events that are booked to finish out or normal operating hours or/and later than
11pm.
1.7 Elected Members
Elected members of Glasgow City Council will be charged at the community rate for
surgeries/meetings in community facilities.
1.8 PPL PRS Charges
Dependent on the type of Let additional PPL and PRS charges will be incurred:
• Dance Class
£1.70 + VAT per Let (£2.05)
• Aerobics / Keep Fit / Zumba
£3.18 + VAT per Let (£3.85)
• Dance Show / Recorded Music
£0.20 + VAT per person attending
Event (£0.25)
• Live Music Event
£0.11 + VAT per person attending (£0.15)
