Dear Merton Borough Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I regret to say that the information provided is incomplete, covering only a few community centres and pavilions. Could you please complete the reply by including all council-owned buildings that are available to community groups. This would include libraries, Children's Centres and schools.

Thank you

Dear Mr Malcolm

Freedom of Information Act 2000- Internal Review

I have now carried out an internal review of our handling of your
information request and have addressed the issues you raised in your email
dated 14 May.   You stated:

I am writing to request an internal review of Merton Borough

Council's handling of my FOI request 'Community Facilities'.

I regret to say that the information provided is incomplete,

covering only a few community centres and pavilions. Could you

please complete the reply by including all council-owned buildings

that are available to community groups. This would include

     libraries, Children's Centres and schools.

I am sorry that our initial response was incomplete.  The initial response
was provided by the Property Management Team as they handle the majority
of the accommodation bookings on behalf of the council.  However, some
service areas (namely, libraries and children’s centres and youth centres)
administer their own room bookings.  Regrettably, because of an oversight
by my team your request was not referred on to all of the service areas
that it should have been.  Please accept my apology for this error.

The staff involved in passing on requests have been informed and this
error should not occur again in future.

The information relating to libraries, children centres and youth centres
is provided below.  You asked:

Could you please provide a list, itemised by ward, of council-owned
buildings which offer rented accommodation to community groups.  Please
include contact details, Rental rates if available would be most helpful.

Schools may also provide room hire, but unfortunately the council does not
hold this information.  To obtain this information your request would need
to be made to the schools direct.  Contact details for the schools in the

Freedom of Information Act.

You can either make your request directly to the schools within the
borough, or, if you prefer, I can transfer your request.  Please let me
know if you would like me to pass on your request to these schools.

I have reviewed our handling of your request as set out above.  Again,
please accept my apology for the omissions we made in our initial response
and the delay in providing the information above to you.
