Dear Ann Morgan (Cardiff and Vale UHB - Corporate Management),

Thank you for clarifying that these guidelines do not exist within Cardiff LHB.

Unfortunately the link you provided does not appear to work. I get a page request not found exception. Please can you provide an alternative link.

Dear Mrs Ovett.

Thank you for your further communication, I am sorry you are experiencing
difficulties accessing the document.

Following your e-mail I also attempted to open the document and also
failed. I have investigated the relevant web site (Royal College of
Physicians) and think there may be a problem with the site itself. I have
attempted to find the document via other sources again without any
success.

I will try RCP site again tomorrow in the hope that the problem has been
corrected. In the interim I have found NICE guidance which you may find
useful and I have attached the relevant link [1]here.

I will e-mail you further tomorrow.

Yours sincerely

Dear Ms Ovett.

I have attempted to access the Royal College of Physicians web site this
morning and unfortunately there still appears to be a problem with this.

The document that I referred to should become available as soon as the
problem on that site is corrected. I have attached the link once again for
you and can only suggest that you continue to try this over the next few
days.

I have also attempted to open the second link I sent to you and I had no
problem in accessing the relevant site National Institute for Health and
Clinical Excellence and page detailed within my link. Therefore I have
provided the link again in a format to enable you to place in your browser
which should hopefully work for you.

I suggest you contact them directly and request the information from them.

I have attached the address for your convenience.

Dear Ann Morgan (Cardiff and Vale UHB - Corporate Management),

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you. You have been very helpful and I really appreciate this.

I am now a little confused, perhaps you can help clarify. If this document does not exist, could this mean the Cardiff and Vale UHB are caring for brain injury patients in the community without guidelines? Please can you clarify.

Yours sincerely,

Ms Ovett

Dear Ms Ovett.

I am sorry for any confusion that has been caused. Please allow me to
clarify. Whilst there is no Cardiff and Vale UHB specific document, staff
caring for such patients will adhere to National Guidelines and procedures
such as those set out by RCP and NICE.

I have once again attempted to access the document which I have referenced
within previous correspondence and I have on this occasion been able to
download this from the RCP website. I have attached the guidance document
in a PDF file for you. There is other guidance contained on the RCP web
site and I have attached a further document above and a link to the
relevant page both here [1]bookshop.rcplondon.ac.uk/index and also
[2]here.

I trust this response has clearly explained the situation and removed the
confusion.

Yours sincerely
