Subject: Community Asset Transfers

We are just emailing you to update you on your open Information Request.
We are currently in the process of updating our systems and part of this
update will mean that your open Information Request has been assigned a

Unfortunately, the Council is currently experiencing a delay in our
response times due to demand and resource. As an organisation we are aware
of our legal duties under the legislation and are making every effort to

Freedom of Information Request

Your request has been considered under the provisions of the Freedom of
Information Act. Specifically, you have requested the following
information:

Please detail properties granted under Community Asset Transfers since the
financial year 2018-19 and those properties currently being considered for
Community Asset Transfer.

No Community Asset Transfers (CATs) have yet been granted since the
financial year 2018-19.

Two CATs have been approved and currently in solicitors’ hands: (1) Harlow
Hall, Norbury -  25 year lease to the H3 Hub at a peppercorn (with mutual
break option at year 5) and (2) The Shoestring Theatre, Oakley Road, South
Norwood – 30 year lease to the Croydon Youth Theatre Organisation at a
peppercorn.

The following initial applications been received and are currently with
the Council for consideration:

Waterside Centre, adjacent to South Norwood Lake

Former Wayside CALAT, New Addington

Cherry Orchard Garden Centre, Cherry Orchard Road, Croydon

Shirley Community Centre, Shirley

Cricket Pitch at Sanderstead Recreation Ground, Sanderstead

If you are dissatisfied with the way the Council has handled your request
under the Freedom of Information Act you may ask for an internal review. 
This should be submitted to us within 40 working days of this response.
