Dear University of Edinburgh,

Just to add to my previous writing: There is a specific public interest which I am pursuing with my two FOI requests. Professor Richard Sharpe has played an important role in the debate about EU regulation of a specific class of chemical substances called 'endocrine disrupting chemicals' or 'endocrine active chemicals':

-In 2013 professor Richard Sharpe signed a letter sent to the Chief Scientific Adviser to the President of the European Commission on 'draft regulation on endocrine active chemicals';
-In 2016 professor Richard Sharpe was part of a delegation of scientists that met with EU Commissioner Vytenis Andriukaitis (Public Health) to discuss the regulation of these 'endocrine active chemicals';

I have focussed the FOI requests on correspondences between professor Richard Sharpe and individuals and organizations representing the chemical industry. The aim of my two FOI requests is to create transparency, and to be able as a professional journalist to make a reconstruction of public policy.

Please let me know if you need any further information which could facilitate your research.

Yours faithfully,
Vincent Harmsen
